Eversley Res 0 - 2 Hanworth Villa Sat 6th March CCLR
After a great run of results and winning an award for February’s performances we welcomed Hanworth Villa to The Pen. We drew 2-2 with these guys at the beginning of the season and we had another tough game against them.

Just two Reserve team games were played on a day that saw wet and windy conditions and a long trek to Croydon! Crescent had given us a hard game at our place and we knew that they would be physical and take the game to us.

Mole Valley started the much stronger side and moved the ball around much better than we did. Having changed the pitch with the main one unplayable it was a smaller and rougher surface that our players struggled to get used to as decent passes went out of play and it was tough controlling the ball.

After a disappointing weekend away to South Park last week we were in need of a lift to ourselves back on track and we certainly got that. Preparations for the game were not ideal with some late pull-outs and a few players getting injured (at work!).

Very dissapointing this week with some poor performances all round. We came into the game off the back of a great win against top of the league and undid all the hard work with a lazy and frustrating performance where we were never really in the game.

We had a strong side this week coming into the game and choosing the side was tough. It was nice to get back to a 4-4-2 formation and we started the game very well, passing it about on a big pitch and getting in behind the Knaphill defence early.
