Farleigh, although starting with just a draw pulled in sone tight results against two decent sides which showed that they were going to be hard to break down. Our memories of FR also told us that they would be a strong, physical and hard working side therefore there was an emphasis on starting well and putting our mark on the game. To be fair to both sides the first half was 50/50 with chances coming and going from both sides and 1-1 at half time looked to be a fair result.

We opened the scoring from a corner on 20 minutes with Twinks delivering a superb cross which Coley headed home well with no real chance for the keeper with a packed penalty box. The FR keeper had a great first half and pulled off two outstanding stops and further few good saves. However, it was FR that equalised shortly after on the half hour mark with sloppy defending letting them in for an easy finish.

Half time was all about trying to get the fight into the lads to get the job done. With FR winning the physical battle but us winning the footballing battle it was time we upped our game and added some extra fight to our good play in the deck. We added a second mid way through the second half with good play from Evo who planted a come and get me cross which Os rose great for in the box and a tidy finish in the end. At 2-1 we were back where we wanted to be, but then got a bonus with a defensive mix up which led to Evo slotting home a third just a few minutes later which sealed the points. FR rallied late but a more sure defensive display in the second half saw us home.

Overall a decent result with all things considered and we played some excellent football on the day. FR came and gave us a really good and tough game but some good passing, crossing and midfield displays saw us home in this one.

Scorers: Steven Cole, James Osler, Richard Evans

With a strong starting line up out for the game we were very confident going in but with a battling and resiliant Bookham side we knew that they would be no walkovers and the first half showed this with decent chances being created by both sides, the better really falling to Bookham. On occassions the front men for Bookham got the wrong side of the Eversley Boars and created some simple chances that only lacklustre finishing meant the scores stayed the same.

Bookham did eventually take the lead about ten minutes before half time when a throw in was flicked on at the left hand side for Bookham and the flick saw us again the wrong side, the lively Bookham striker then slotted the ball across the six yard box for their buzzing right winger to pop the ball in - poor defending but keep also in no man’s land so poor play all round. Bookham had another chance before this in the first half when again the attacker for Bookham got the wrong side, slotted the ball past a wrong footed keeper only to see the Boars keeper scramble to grab the ball on the line just before it crossed. Crys to the linesman from the Bookham players for it to be given but the young, energetic lino was right up with play and gave the right decision.

Second half was a great display from the Eversley Boars with slick, controlled and clinical passing and moving being the absolute key. With the lads defending well, keeping their shape and attacking in bursts it was only a matter of time time before we snuck the equaliser. Great play from Neemsy down the left saw him cut in and around two then three defenders before stabbing the ball home to make it 1-1. Neemsy then grabbed his brace with about twenty to play when he was put through with an ice of a pass and clipped the ball over the oncoming keeper. Great finish. The Boars could then have gone on to score more and really should have had a bagful in the second half but we got the points and a job well done. Good luck to Bookham who were good hosts on the day.
