Eversley Vets 2 - 0 Villagereal Sun 11th March Runwick Cup Semi

The Strollers gained revenge over Villagereal’s league defeat last week with 2 first half goals from Kevin Cheeseman to set up a mouth watering cup final against the Golden Lion in April. After 3 games in three weeks the old Boars have a well earned couple of weeks off now until a second semi final on 1^st April……..against the Golden Lion as well. Then a third semi final in the CCL vets Cup on Wednesday 4^th April away to Westfield (7.30pm kick off). By the time the season ends we will all be in traction!

Golden Lion 3 - 3 Eversley Strollers Sun 29th Jan

The Old Boars snatched a dramatic last minute equaliser to snatch a point in the Lions Den.
A brutal game and not for the faint hearted as The Golden Lion looked to intimidate our boys from the first minute to the last. It looked like it had worked as they took a two goal lead in the first 30 minutes. Sav’s dipping 25 yearder hit the top corner 5 minutes before the break to make it 2-1 but the home side made it 3-1 on the hour.

Super sub Paul Hudson made it 3-2 with 5 to go and man of the match Jon Underwood smashed a last minute volley home to level the game and keep well in the title hunt.

Great debuts from Scott Brighty & Lawrence Stephenson who was constantly pelted with mud from the boots of the Golden Lion centre back’s boots all game! We are trying to convince that most games in the league are played with spirit and respect from both sides so hopefully he will be back to grace us with his sublime skills again!

Chobham Burymead Vets 2 v 5 Eversley strollers

A virtuoso performance from former Yateley Morris Dancer Gerald Donaldson inspired the Strollers to the top of the table with a man of the match performance. A goal from Donaldson himself, one from Jason Walkington, one for Stephen Morris and two (yes two!) for Jon Underwood saw off the home side in an entertaining encounter.

Asked why Morris dancers wear bells after the game Donaldson had the players in stitches by replying ” so they can annoy blind people as well!”

Eversley Vets 6 - 1 French Horn Sun 27th Nov

The Eversley Strollers blew away the French Horn on Sunday, Four goals from Craig Reillly and two from Jason Walkington sealed the points to keep up the Strollers 100% record to remain in 2nd place in the league behind leaders Golden lion with games in hand. Next league game is on the 11th December away to Chobham.

Headley Vets 0 - 3 Eversley Vets Sun 6th Nov League Cup

The Strollers made it a full house for all Eversley teams with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Headley. 2 Jason Walkington goals put the Old Boars 2 up at haltime before Ian Savage sealed the win to move into the quarter-finals. Next game 27th November at home to French Horn.

Villagereal 0 - 1 Eversley Vets CCup Rd1 Sun 10th Oct

The Strollers became the Old Boars as they played their second game in 8 days and had to dig deep to reach the second round of the Challenge Cup, courtesy of a great twenty yards from Ian savage in the dying minutes. Creditably performances from G-dog, the dependable defenders, Mo and Ox and a MOM performance from Micky Walter. Also 90 minutes from Lucky today….who won`t be able to walk for a week no doubt!

Eversley Vets 4 - 1 Golden Lion Sun 2nd Oct FVLP

The vets rolled back the years once more to make it three wins in a row and move to the top of the League after a virtuoso display against Golden Lion. Lion boasted many local legends from the past but they were no match as Craig Reilly, Gary Smith and Ian Savage with a penalty made it 3-0 at the break. On a very hot day the Strollers took their foot of the pedal allowing the visitors a consolation when Scott Harper took pity and passed to their bald fat striker! Even roly poly Paul Hudson got in on the act with his debut goal - a neat finish when clean through to complete the scoring.

The vets made it two out two with victory over Chobham vets. Craig Reilly 2, Gary Smith, Ian Savage and Kevin Cheeseman got the goals.

With all three Saturday sides gaining victory the vets toasted a perfect weekend for the club with a convincing 4-1 victory over Headley in their first ever game. Goals from Kieron Brophy, Jon Underwood and two from Ian Savage secured a first win. The Strollers have two weeks to recover before they entertain Chobham Vets on the 18th September.
